My heart shall not fear

Finally posting these images from the Brandi Milne show opening last week! Hope you enjoy :)

Group photo :) Me in my rubber dress and hat.

This little guy greeted everyone at the door

One of my favorite's I love the nun's she used in her pieces

All the pieces were so big and glorious. This one was especially large! These small photos dont really do the pieces justice. The details in each and every one was beautiful!

They offered this piece as a print and I purchased one, it's so great.

Love this little ice cream cone!

Another one of my favorites, so cute!

What an adorable trio!

The details of this piece were gorgeous.

This piece was another offered print that I purchased, love it so much!

Adorable poisoned chicks!

As you can see the show was great, you can see more about it on Brandi's blog, here.

Fear Not

I have been waiting for this show from Brandi Milne for almost a year now! I really hope all you readers in LA can make it out. I'll be there for sure, wearing one of my rubbery designs too, that I made just for this show!

Happy birthday to me!

Not a normal post for me but it's my birthday so I'll do what I want, bitch! Anyways, today was my birthday, and I just wanted to thank everyone out there for all the well wishes you've given me, I feel soooo loved! I came home and found that my boyfriend appeared to have started the "party" without me before he had to head to work (yes that is a d & d manual next to an alligator head and rubber finger licking photo, I live a strange life, lol). And one of my close friends from work gave me the COOLEST cupcake book wrapped in an adorable hello kitty bag that was full of additional goodies. Then out for pho and cake, all day lots a cake, which kinda makes me laugh cause last year I got no cake and was feeling a bit lonely after having just started a new job. Just goes to show you how many things can change in a year! Thanks again you guys, you really are the best!

MultiPlane

Thanks to my bf's awesome grandparents, with whom I had gone to dinner with last night, I was able to make it to the Multiplane show at CHG after all! I wasn't able to stay long though, because as intrigued as the were, it was hard to keep them entertained for too long :) Some of their comments included that the Greg Simkins, and Brandi Milne pieces were their favorites, which is of course to be expected I think cause they were definitely show highlights! His grandma also told me that she was being entertained my looking at all the "different people", hehe. It was fun to bring them there, none the less! The show had a really cool concept of sending artist panes of glass and then having them create their pieces in layers. It's a very different canvas then most of the artists have used before, but the finished product is so unique! Unfortunately my pictures have a bit of glare and reflection on them, but I'm sure you'll get the general idea.

One of the reasons I tried so hard to get out there, despite complications, was that Brandi told me she had a gift for me that she was going to bring.....

YAY! It was the stuffed bear she made, Tiny Bo Bo! He's such a cutey and is now sitting on the shelf directly above my So Good for Little Bunnies book.

She's a maniac!

What an amazing day yesterday was! I got to go and have my AMAZING Maniac on Sugar Island tattoo colored in and ended it with the perfect finale! Misha did the most amazing job on this tattoo, and I'm so thrilled with the end results. I found out upon arriving at the shop to get my tattoo worked on that she was planning to attend the Greg Craola Simkins show at Gallery 1988 that night, there very show I was also planning to attend. So we made tentative plans to say hello upon arrival. I got food with some friends and then headed to the Gallery. Outside I was stopped and my (very) fresh tattoo was admired and I was told that Brandi was inside, Yippee, how awesome that she gets to see the tribute to her work so soon! While getting a shot of one of the AMAZING pieces in the show I felt my bag being tugged on and looked over and it was her. She is the sweetest, most genuine person. Of course I don't know her as well as some but just from reading her blog, corresponding with her over email, and now seeing her in person you can really tell that she has something special about her, it definitely shines through.
A big shout out to everyone that has made this tattoo epically awesome, Brandi the person to put ink to paper, Misha the person to put ink to skin, and my boyfriend for being so awesome and providing me with this tattoo as like 2 years of past and future gifts all wrapped into one :D
You are all freaking awesome!
(oh and fyi some of the pics I took at the show were a bit fuzzy 'cause the place was packed, so I hope to go over and take a few more before posting them)

The big day!

Tomorrow's the day I get the outline (as seen here) done on my tattoo! I am sooooo excited, it's crazy! Original artwork is by one of my favorite artists, and done by THE best tattoo artist in LA (in my opinion) Misha, judging from the work I've seen so far! Wish me luck, I'll post pics asap :)
