Ivan Grundahl

Upon viewing the very last image on this post on the OtomayimBDipper blog today I was prompted to search out the designer of the jacket being worn. So I looked and found Ivan Grundahl's website and am now loving his stuff! I put up some of my favorite images, but there's some other good ones to check out. I wish that getting pieces from designers like this was more accessible via the Internet. Living in LA sometimes gives one limited choices for clothing (though vastly more then many other areas of the country mind you) especially when it comes to up and coming new designers I feel :( Check him out here !

Do You Wear the Mark

New York designer Graham Tabor's work is an eclectic mix of materials that he likes to compare to an archaeological dig "Each fragment separate from the rest, almost veiling it's origin". I found his SS '09 collection fascinating and seems to give each of it's wearer's the look of a modern tribesman.

I suck at taking and having taken pictures at home (my bf is definitely NOT a pro and will only put up with taking pictures for literally about 3 minutes!) or really anywhere for that matter, lol. But I wanted to start putting up some more stuff that I've made, and since I really love this dress I thought I would put it on here. The dress is made from a distressed gold color latex, kinda hard to tell cause we stupidly took the shots in the shadow of our apt.... but I added a somewhat clearer color shot at the end. So yeah, gold with black heart appliques and black trim. One reason I love this dress (and I think some of it has to do with the color looking unique and not so much "fetishy") is because I can wear it out with normal heels and not feel quite as much of a spectacle as most other latex dresses would make me feel. I think it's also the "retro" feel of it that makes it a little more acceptable by the masses.

Oh and btw, the "circus" was great! I especially liked that they had a live band/mini orchestra that played music to all of the acts. Everything went spectacularly together. Oh and sorry I haven't posted lately, I had a broken mouse on my pc this week, so I will be catching up over the weekend :)

Found designer Helena Horstedt today. Her work is spectacular! Breathtaking in fact. The tailoring and artistry that appear to go into each piece is insane. I love every single one of the images on her site and would love to put all of them on here, I suggest taking a look for yourselves. She is a swedish designer, whom graduated from Beckman's School of design in 2004. I would love to get my hands on one of her pieces someday!

I've got to say, that even though Christopher Kane isnt one of the most spoken about designer's out there, he always has a piece that I would love to wear. Very fresh, and sexy and the technical detail of the dresses is GREAT!
