Roxi D'Lite - Fetish Feline

I had the pleasure during the end of 2011/beginning of 2012 to work with immensely talented burlesque star Roxi D'Lite on a new look for a new act!
She was a fabulous client to work with, had a good idea what she liked and tons of ideas of innovative new things she wanted me to work on for her outfit.
Since the latex was to be worn in a burlesque act it had to be able to be taken off in the most graceful, beautiful way possible, so after some discussion I devised the best route for this. The outfit also had to be made into multiple pieces that while on their own looked magnificent but still worked together as she was to be starting out with them all on. In the video you'll see how Roxi D'lite strips from a latex leopard catsuit to a latex 1/4 cup bra and high waisted short also leopard spotted. Once down to that she goes down to a latex leopard gstring and heart pasties for the big finale in the milk bath. The one thing that stays on the whole time? Her adorable latex kitty ears of course! More photos of the outfit to come but in the meantime you can check out this awesome video promoting Roxi D'lite's Fetish Feline act, edited by IN*NO*V8.

Keep an eye out for more pictures of the outfit and some more of me spilling the beans to what makes this looks so amazing!

Katy Perry wears latex lightning outfit on BBC show “Let’s Dance for Sport Relief”

This past week I got the awesome latex design opportunity to create a custom latex catsuit for Katy Perry with lightning as the oufits theme. I'll need to scan and post my design sketch at some point as well to show you the original concept that I worked out with her amazing stylist Johnny Wujek but for now here's some screen shots of the real thing. Since Katy's dance routine for the show is so rigorous you can't really catch the whole of the latex outfit for very long but she's wearing lightning trimmed latex gloves, latex elbow pads, a latex lightning belt, black high waisted briefs and the piece that makes the outfit what it is, the latex lightning catsuit. Figuring out a way to create the lightning effect in a manner that would look good on camera, work in latex, and compliment her figure all while within a very limited time frame was a bit of a challenge but I was super happy with the end results, I love the lightning's "movement" on camera mixed with the lasers.

I also had the pleasure of working on latex shorts for the boys to wear during her performance. Unfortunately the dark lighting for the lasers tends to make it a bit hard to catch but you can kinda peep them in this shot and the video.

Schick Quattro for Women Katy Perry Tour dresses

Over the summer I had the great honor of working with a team of talented people at marketing firm “Amplitude” on their campaign for “Schick Quattro for Women” razors. They were going to be the main tour sponsor of Katy Perry’s world tour and wanted something unique to help the girls that would be touring stand out in a crowd. After a few talks we decided that putting the signature Schick wording on a halter dress would not only be fun and unique but also allow for the girls to be able to work long hours without much discomfort. Some skirts were also made for the additional girls that came to help out at each new location to assist. Each letter on the dresses was meticulously cut in a different font, different sizing, etc, along with the Schick logo. It was a super consuming project but one well worth the effort. I had the pleasure of getting to go to the Los Angeles part of the tour, so much fun! Was great to see the reaction from people that had never seen, nor heard of latex before!

Schick also send a camera crew to watch me work one day on the dresses, etc and above you'll see the footage from that time they spent with me.

Here's a shot of me being a dork with the girls on set while we filmed the segment.

Sticks & Stones

If you haven't already had a chance to watch it, here's Rihanna's new video S&M:

This video featured lots of bright colors and LOTS of latex. Below are some of my favorite looks and I had the honor of getting to participate in it! It's always a HUGE pleasure to get contacted by new stylists, (that I haven't gotten to work with before) to work on projects like this. I couldn't be in better company with the looks they used.

The video opens up with Rihanna in a "newspaper" print dress, and though it wasn't latex I
was a fan of the look since it fit her to a T and the scene with her behind the saran wrap wall
was pretty sexy. (Plus I thought all the multi colored ball gags in the reporters mouths were pretty cute!)

Next we have Rihanna taking her "pet" Perez out for a walk. She's wearing a stunning dress and
hat by fabulous latex designer Atsuko Kudo. Not only is the set in one of my favorite latex colors but that
hat style is to die for.

Then we have Rihanna taking a bit of a break with some pink popcorn in hand rocking the baby pink latex. This is where I come in ;) The top and panties are made by designer
William Wilde but I was commissioned a couple days before the shoot to make a pair of gloves,
stockings and hood for this scene. They're only basics, but getting to have my work next to some other really great latex designers is still an awesome honor and I always love getting the pleasure of working with new stylists on projects like this.

This look, while sans latex is one of my personal favorites! I kinda, freaking love that
polka dotted romper and her cute little pig tails with flower headdress. I know that's not what
most people want to see when they have a girl tied up... but honestly that's what I'd want to see! Plus pink rope = super cute!!!

One of the last looks is this little orange and pink number. It's also by William Wilde and is a yet to be released piece from his new collection "Through with love". However (!!!) I did make the little latex flower in her hair, hehehe. I made a similar headpiece for myself last year with some mini orchids, I should post some pictures one of these days!

Now I know there's A LOT of people that are hating on this video (as there always is these days when something like this comes out). Saying it's been done, saying that it's bastardizing traditional fetish and selling it out in the name of media and money.
I have to say this though, isn't it possible that maybe this type of publicity on fetish is something that's going to take it to the next level? I like to think that maybe this is going to help a new breed of latex (and/or fetish) lovers discover their passions! Honestly I LOVE the idea of latex fetish in pinks and oranges, yellows and whites, instead of the traditional black and red. Why should we pinhole fetish as just one type, one color, when there's sooooooo many fetishes out there can't one have a fetish for pink latex over black? Or I like to think of it as a fashion fetish, I'd say that I subscribe to that mentality, if it aint pretty it isn't turning me on!

Anyways, enough of that rant ;) I'll leave you with a few more random screen shots of the
pieces I contributed:

Blog "The Fashion Manifesto" did a great breakdown of this too, so if you wanna see some more of the outfits check it out here.

Alice

I can't WAIT to get this book. Camille's books are always the best! Seeing these teaser images make me think that images from the book would make the most amazing tattooed sleeve someday, but a million other people will probably be thinking that too......

Street art

Some really cool street art that I found on trendland this weekend. I thought that artist Joshua Allen Harris has a cool, fresh idea with these pieces. Taking pieces from the city and really bringing them to life in a fantastical sort of way. The video is definitely worth a watch to see these pieces brought to life.
