Institutionalized

Sooooo...... remember how like a week ago I said I was over these shoes, etc that everyone has in ALL of their pictorials lately????? Well...... I lied, cause honestly if I could dress and look like this for fall I think I'd have died and gone to heaven, or lost my mind ;) From Numero Tokyo, via modelwerk.

Forest

One of the most beautiful, moody shoots I've seen in a long time! Such a gorgeous use of some of everyone's favorite items for fall. Love it! From L'Officiel Maroc, Via fashiongonerogue

Hit by a rock

So I had some recent images on my computer desktop of things I wanted to post, some pictorials from fall magazines that showcased the current rock and fetish inspired trends, but then it hit me... why? We've been seeing the same images a million freaking times lately, the same Nina Ricci boots, the same Alexander Mcqueen coat. And don't get me wrong, God I love them all, but there's only so many times you can see it before it gets a bit old and uninnovative anymore! So instead I'm posting that little complaint along with this gorgeous and kinda unique picture of Coco. Of course there will most likely still be posts that will involve the Nina Ricci boots, but I figure it's good to mix it up a bit, for tonight anyways. Hoping to post about a really cool art show I went to last week over the weekend so stay tuned :)

tip of the iceburg

I've spent a lot of the last 2 days lusting over things on La Garconne and they way they have everything styled, so please forgive the many repeated photos from there I just love it all! This is essentially the beginning of my fall fantasy wish list, as most (if not all) I will never be owning, and hilariously enough I've bought several summery pieces recently as the last two weeks have been the hottest yet in LA and it's hard to wrap my brain around actually WEARING autumn clothes right now!

I am absolutely obsessed with these surface to air booties. Unfortunately it seems most stores in the US are sold out of size 40 (us 10) which is what I need! If you know anywhere that has them in stock let me know! Even if they are way out of my price range, the versatile range of styling they have may make them worth the cost. I love them with the Alexander Wang blazer, simple tee and Rick Owens coat! I would be over the moon with any of these items in my wardrobe!

Next I'm obsessed with finding THE PERFECT leather jacket. As much as I would love a RickOwens leather jacket that's completely out of the question. I found a couple of jackets that I would equally love, but again they are definitely a bit pricey, even if worn every day for the rest of my life :( The first is a leather/cotton mix by Helmut Lang, and the second is a cropped version by Preen Line.

I'm also desperately trying to find an amazing, but affordable leather (real leather!) bag! The hunt has been going on CONSTANTLY for probably six months or more. Its very depressing. I found this Diesel one that I think might work, it's a bit pricier then I had hoped for, but I'm considering it.
(can you tell how obsessed I am with all things leather! HA! It's a good time to be obsessed though)

And last a few of the MANY, MANY photos I have saved thinking about fall. Black, leather, studs, hoodies, boots, etc, paired with the loved 2006 Junya Watanabe collection looks equal what I hope my fall will look like!

Julia and Ben

Came across Designers Julia and Ben today. I enjoy the simplistic "trendiness" of their collection. I also love how the models have matching haircuts, and both wear the same pieces in some of the shots, made the collection have a fun androgynous edge to it. I would absolutely love to own the hooded top in the first pictures!

So 2006, so what?

I designed A LOT of outerwear for this fall at my old job last year inspired by Junya Watanabe's Fall 2006 collection . Not sure if the styles got picked up or not when I left the company but I know that I personally will be going off of these looks to style my own fall wardrobe. Army green, tattered jackets, studs, bondage inspiration, leather, shredded sweaters and crazy studded shoes. I think these are all a MUST for this falls "edgy" wardrobe. Don't get me wrong though I'll still be rocking bandage dresses and ruffles, just underneath my huge army jacket and with my studded oxfords :)
