So I decided to recently take my obsession one step further and create some kinky accessories that screamed sexy (but not trashy) kitty. Schick Quattro for Women Katy Perry Tour dresses

Over the summer I had the great honor of working with a team of talented people at marketing firm “Amplitude” on their campaign for “Schick Quattro for Women” razors. They were going to be the main tour sponsor of Katy Perry’s world tour and wanted something unique to help the girls that would be touring stand out in a crowd. After a few talks we decided that putting the signature Schick wording on a halter dress would not only be fun and unique but also allow for the girls to be able to work long hours without much discomfort. Some skirts were also made for the additional girls that came to help out at each new location to assist. Each letter on the dresses was meticulously cut in a different font, different sizing, etc, along with the Schick logo. It was a super consuming project but one well worth the effort. I had the pleasure of getting to go to the Los Angeles part of the tour, so much fun! Was great to see the reaction from people that had never seen, nor heard of latex before!

Schick also send a camera crew to watch me work one day on the dresses, etc and above you'll see the footage from that time they spent with me.

Carmen Electra Halloween Kitty

I'm a bit late posting this up here but I had the immense pleasure this Halloween season to get to work with the GORGEOUS Carmen Electra, and her amazing stylists on her Halloween outfit!
Seriously, you could not have a better body for latex then this woman has, it looks absolutely perfect on her. Carmen wanted to do a traditional pin up kitty sort of look, so we decided on a zip front catsuit with a cute attached rubber kitty tail, and then got to have some fun accessorizing the outfit with some clip on kitty ears (which are one of my favorite things right now) a diamante detailed kitty collar and a lovely latex face mask to put a bit of mystery into the look. Below you’ll find a few shots of the look that were taken while Carmen was hosting a Halloween event and also some of her that she tweeted while getting ready to go out

This was my main inspiration for the outfit. Pre-catwoman, sexy pinup kitty. I absolutely love old pin ups and love being able to draw inspiration from them!

I recently got tear sheets from issue #16 of Alt Noir magazine that features some work I did for a shoot with Charlie Bones Inc. The shoot was for their “Urban Myths” issue and the theme of the shoot was inspired by Will Christopher Baers book, Kiss Me Judas. (A great read,I highly recommend it). I love Halloween! Last week one of the Creative Directors/Stylists working on MTV's Video Music Awards got in touch with me and asked if it would be possible to work on replicating Red latex suits that look like the original one in Britney Spear's "Opps I did it again" video. Which after looking over the images for awhile I believe the original suit was actually made of vinyl cause I think I saw some stitched seams. The challenge.... they would be on young girls in a dance segment. It's hard to tell in the tiny video but the girls were only 4ft 4in tall, and I had never made anything for anyone that tiny before, PLUS they needed to, of course not have a lot of sex appeal (or the least possible for latex anyways) since the girls were in their teens. So, red catsuits, that fit small ladies, that they can dance in and don't look too sexy, that instead look fun and evoke a Britney vibe. Weeeeellll I like to think that I nailed it. I was breathing a sigh of relief when I got the stuff on the girls and from the first fitting it was perfect so I'd say that's a success! Check out the video HERE and see what you think, it's a pretty sort dance segment, the VMA's I felt were set up a bit strange this year with what seemed like A LOT of talking but only a tiny bit of the actual performances and tributes so I at least trimmed it down by finding a video of just the dance tribute segment!

You guys may have noticed but I've updated a few things on here! Given it a minor face lift so to speak. With the help of awesome graphic designer and blogger Isabelle Gloria that is!

Isabelle is an awesome lady that approached me a couple of weeks ago about helping out to make this blog look a bit fresher and more up to date and of course I couldn't say no to help like that! What's even cooler is she's in Germany so through the wonders of the internet we communicated about what I wanted for the site and I think she nailed it.

This new girdle short and and halter bra combo are a favorite of mine. They started out with Art Deco references in mind (as usual, hehe) but as I was designing them they started to take on a more seashell inspired look. I think maybe it's because I covered the naughty bits in a mermaid-like manner and kept the rest transparent, that and the line work. Hope you like them as much as I do!

Lady Gaga wore original Abigail Greydanus Suit jacket and Harem pants on Monday when she performed at the Robin Hood Gala event!

She's also wearing a top by designer HMS Latex.

I think it's really great how many up and coming designer's she wears, and that she's not afraid to mix and match pieces. All of which will only push the boundaries of design even more so I think over the coming years.

As you guys can see this show was a major labor of love. Jaime is extremely passionate about what she does and our working together was quite an ideal match up because of this. I stayed motivated to hand cut and glue (literally) thousands of hexagons to create honeycomb because as I did that she would send me sneak peaks of what she was doing and it was even more intense then my own stuff! Australian Fashion Week 1

I've been waiting in anticipation for soooooo long to show this too you guys!!! As some of you know I recently was asked to collaborate with an awesome, up and coming designer named Jaime Lee on her new collection for Australian Fashion week. See more on it here too and here and here!! Not only did I get the opportunity to meet and work with her but also amazing Australian fashion photographer Thom Kerr who shot the images above and I highly suggest checking out more of his work!

The two of them are some of the most amazing, talented, hard working people I've ever had the pleasure to work with. They truly have an amazing vision for fashion and I can't wait to follow them over the course of their careers and hopefully get the chance to work with them again!

This is just a sneak peak of the outfits to come! In case you can't tell I worked on the top in the first picture for her. Despite this being in black and white think bright colors, textures and lots AND LOTS of hand beaded bits and baubles!

I really don't know where this is all coming from. I worked for multiple fashion companies
before working at Syren, including Forever 21 one of the biggest fashion companies in the world. Also I didn't learn latex construction at Syren, I interned with Tressa at Fierce Couture for several months, along with tons of research I did on my own before ever even considering working there. Then there's the fact that even before all of this I spent 2 years and thousands of dollars attending FIDM to learn what I know about pattern making and design.

I am not going to let this beat me, I've spent my whole life building my experience and knowledge on garment design and construction and I have not actively tried to interfere with ANYONE'S business. I'm trying to create a specialty niche in an industry where black dresses and catsuits are standard fare. I have no desire or need to copy ANYONE!!!

I really appreciate everyone's support on the matter, I may not have the money and the years of experience that they have but I am passionate about what I do and don't want someone to take that away from me!

I was searching latex on a site the other night and came across some interesting artwork I thought I'd share. Lynda Benglis is an artist that is currently using liquid latex as her medium. I feel in love with the glow in the dark pieces she did for New Museum in New York, and if you're in the area it appears they're on view til June 19. Up next is totally rad Loooo modeling a new Art Deco dress I recently designed. The dress was inspired off of a flapper dress I saw while on the internet one day and I just love the shape that the green adds to the dress and frames her figure. I of course couldn't just go and put the green accent color on there, oh no, I'm far too much of a perfectionist to do that! So I also conceived the idea of black trim around and black trim up the center, creating to me what almost looks like a vintage Taj Mahal type building. Hope you enjoy!!

Interrupting the scheduled 7 Deadly Sins posts to show you all something I worked on last month.
Musician Porcelain Black is up and coming in the industry, but she's making a splash on the scene with this new video. In it you'll see a custom V-neck catsuit I designed for her featured prominently throughout. I'm pretty excited by how hot this suit looks on her in the video, and got a bit screen shot happy (as you can see) but I LOVE how she's doing a completely different pose in the suit throughout the video and thought I would share most of them!

If you haven't already had a chance to watch it, here's Rihanna's new video S&M:

This video featured lots of bright colors and LOTS of latex. Below are some of my favorite looks and I had the honor of getting to participate in it! It's always a HUGE pleasure to get contacted by new stylists, (that I haven't gotten to work with before) to work on projects like this. I couldn't be in better company with the looks they used.

The video opens up with Rihanna in a "newspaper" print dress, and though it wasn't latex I
was a fan of the look since it fit her to a T and the scene with her behind the saran wrap wall
was pretty sexy. (Plus I thought all the multi colored ball gags in the reporters mouths were pretty cute!)

Next we have Rihanna taking her "pet" Perez out for a walk. She's wearing a stunning dress and
hat by fabulous latex designer Atsuko Kudo. Not only is the set in one of my favorite latex colors but that
hat style is to die for.

Then we have Rihanna taking a bit of a break with some pink popcorn in hand rocking the baby pink latex. This is where I come in ;) The top and panties are made by designer
William Wilde but I was commissioned a couple days before the shoot to make a pair of gloves,
stockings and hood for this scene. They're only basics, but getting to have my work next to some other really great latex designers is still an awesome honor and I always love getting the pleasure of working with new stylists on projects like this.

This look, while sans latex is one of my personal favorites! I kinda, freaking love that
polka dotted romper and her cute little pig tails with flower headdress. I know that's not what
most people want to see when they have a girl tied up... but honestly that's what I'd want to see! Plus pink rope = super cute!!!

One of the last looks is this little orange and pink number. It's also by William Wilde and is a yet to be released piece from his new collection "Through with love". However (!!!) I did make the little latex flower in her hair, hehehe. I made a similar headpiece for myself last year with some mini orchids, I should post some pictures one of these days!

Now I know there's A LOT of people that are hating on this video (as there always is these days when something like this comes out). Saying it's been done, saying that it's bastardizing traditional fetish and selling it out in the name of media and money.
I have to say this though, isn't it possible that maybe this type of publicity on fetish is something that's going to take it to the next level? I like to think that maybe this is going to help a new breed of latex (and/or fetish) lovers discover their passions! Honestly I LOVE the idea of latex fetish in pinks and oranges, yellows and whites, instead of the traditional black and red. Why should we pinhole fetish as just one type, one color, when there's sooooooo many fetishes out there can't one have a fetish for pink latex over black? Or I like to think of it as a fashion fetish, I'd say that I subscribe to that mentality, if it aint pretty it isn't turning me on!

So I'm kinda obsessed with the latest Christian Dior Couture collection. It's simply astounding! If there was one collection of clothing I could wear every day of the rest of my life I think I would be able to wear this one to complete shreds. Big, fluffy, cotton candy colored dresses with pretty hats. Whimsy at it's finest!

The Palm Court

As some of you may have noticed on my facebook page, the other night I went to a place in downtown LA called the Alexandria Hotel, and inside of it is a room called "The Palm Court".
I was intrigued by it's strange beauty and knew that upon getting home I'd have to look into it more.

This building, and especially this room was a pinnacle of the early 1900's, most specifically the Roaring 20's with the cream of the early Hollywood crop lining up to enjoy. By 1912 the Alexandria was such an important gathering place that the Los Angeles times even wrote:

"What Union Square was to old New York, what Forty-second street is to the present metropolis, and what the vicinity of the Cort Theater is to San Francisco, the Alexandria mezzanine seems to be to theatrical Los Angeles. ... Hardly ever does the day pass in which some nationally-known actor or actress does not linger in the low settees or pause at the golden rail, looking down into the lobby below -- pausing, lingering, while in whispered tones behind rises the chatter that his or her presence has caused." (quote via wikipedia)

Unfortunately while these photos was only taken 3 years ago the hotel is getting so rundown that there are now broken panels in the glass, the wallpaper's peeling and it's in dire need of cleaning, such an unfortunate turn of events due to the hotels CONSTANT changing of ownership and the fact that it's now being used as low income housing.

The room, not the hotel are deemed a Los Angeles Historical landmark, (as of 1971) but because just the room is, it's slowly being allowed to deteriorate and only the fact that it's a true work of art allows it to shine even in it's dingy state.

"In the Alexandria's heyday, movie stars and other celebrities, including Rudolph Valentino, Mary Miles Minter, Sarah Bernhardt, Enrico Caruso and Jack Dempsey were guests. Charlie Chaplin reportedly kept a suite at the Alexandria and did improvisations in the lobby, and western star Tom Mix reportedly rode his horse through the lobby. The large oriental rug in the lobby was called the "million-dollar carpet", because there was purportedly a $1 million worth of business done there every day. It was there that D.W. Griffith, Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks met in 1919 to form United Artists. U.S. Presidents Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft and Woodrow Wilson,and many foreign dignitaries, also stayed at the hotel while visiting Los Angeles." (via wikipedia)

There's still photos of the aforementioned starlets in the lobby, amongst many more, but as with everything else those too are in a state of disrepair. I highly hope that someone takes the responsibility for the preservation of this beautiful room and the hotel as a whole, because the fact that it's a landmark does not seem to do so by itself.
The building and The Palm Court itself are an endless source for inspiration. As I'm sure you can tell I'm in love with just about anything Art Deco, and love interpreting it into my garments so a find like this is simply delightful and I hope that the next time I visit it will be restored to it's initial luster.

Happy New Year everyone!!! I thought I'd do a bit of a 2010 at glance post and then it's out with the old and in with the new! I know that 2011 is going to be a fantastic year for all of us and I can't wait to share it with all my readers! 2010, like all years had its ups and downs of course but I truly believe that this coming year is going to bring many amazing things!

2010 gave the opportunity to meet and work with many great models and photographers. Some of which you've already seen and some of which are yet to come in the new year. I have lots of big plans for new designs, new shoots and new (and old) people I'm collaborating with in 2011, all of which I'm super excited to be a part of!!! Plus the biggest of all getting my website up and running, being the perfectionist I am I want it to be as amazing as it can before I put it up.

2010 also brought the amazing opportunity of getting to work many and many a time with musician Katy Perry. This is only a small sampling of the work I did for her, most of my favorites, the pieces dearest to my heart. It's always amazing to get to work with someone as interested in fashion and pushing the boundaries of style as much as her, and I learned a lot with each and every piece I made as I tried new techniques, etc.

Last but not least there's all the personal goings on in my life. I dont speak much of them on here, a lot of that is because 95% of what I do is related to my work already but when I break it down I actually had a pretty busy 5% this year as well. Some of my favorite things include getting my puppy Elton Alexander, (he's the love of my life), spending time with friends, family and their pets, Hello Kitty shenanigans, vacationing with family in Hawaii, seeing lots of new, beautiful art, and getting some new ink started.

Well I think that's about everything! I wish all of you the best for 2011 at making your dreams come true! I know that we'll all be working our hardest towards that same goal and as I've said so many times I look forward to sharing more of the work I do with all of you!!!

Love these new set of photos taken by Clayton Addison. Totally different and unique to how you normally see latex shot. Kind of voyeuristic in quality, it's always a bit so when you see photos of a girl wearing latex in a public setting I think since in a sense latex still has the connotation of being exclusive to the bedroom. I love the idea of breaking these boundaries and portraying latex in settings that are a bit more average to our daily lives but out of the ordinary for seeing latex worn there, show people that the garments are accessible for any event.

I can not believe that one of my favorite photographers of all time actually shoot my work, it's amazing, I feel so honored! As many of you know, Miles Aldrige is one of fashion's top photographers so I nearly feel over when I found out he was shooting one of my custom garments!

It's hard to tell in the video but each cherry blossom on the dress is scarlet red with gold and black centers, each intricately cut and unique in it's own way. This has to be one of my favorite designs to date (yeah, yeah I say that a lot but still :P). I designed and custom made this bikini just for Katy Perry and her album promo shots and am so freaking excited to finally see pictures of her in it (I made it all the way back in March!)!!! As some of you may know I'm a big, big fan of color blocking and using trim to create architectural design in my pieces so this was so fun as I got to combine the two together for this awesome outlook! Definitely worth the wait :D

With all the Katy Perry work I've been posting lately it's practically the new theme of my blog :p especially with all that I've been neglecting it lately!!! I love making stuff for her though, it's always fun! The dress above is a piece that I rushed out and overnighted to her in London! It was like making 4 dresses essentially since I took a dress that I had custom made for her before and created the flag designs on either sides of the front and either sides of the back. I then proceeded to turn the dress into a jigsaw puzzle and add seam allowances to each individual piece and began the process of cutting, gluing and putting back together all of the over 100+ pieces it took to complete the pattern. I wanted to make the flag parts as accurate as possible and was able to do so with the stripes of the American flag but unfortunately not the stars as I only had 24 hours to finish the dress and cutting 50 stars (+ more incase any got torn, etc) was simply out of the question. I'm entirely happy with the results though and I must say that she looks DAMN SEXY in that piece, like it's painted on!

Below I threw in a picture of me working on the dress since I stole all the others off of other websites :)

If you look closely you'll see how I had to number each piece as I cut it so that it would line up in the right place! :)

A few weeks ago I attended the Rogue Taxidermy show at La Luz De Jesus Gallery, here in LA. I must admit, it was one of those shows with extreme highs and extreme lows. Perhaps it's just that anything that's in the presence of a masterpiece by someone like Jessica Joslin will be dwarfed by it's awesomeness, but I just gotta say: sticking snake bones onto something or adding fur to something does NOT make it a good use of "taxidermy" in art. That being said the show was put on by a group of artists that use completely found objects of taxidermy, nothing used was killed for that purpose, the only kind of taxidermy art that one can really truly enjoy. Here's some images of my favorites, and the "highs" from the show!

So as you may remember I wrote about a week ago that I had some fun photos to share from my recent trip to my family in New Mexico. Well most importantly I want to post some of the shots I have from a private taxidermy collection/museum that is just MASSIVE. When I was younger I hated the place cause all of the animals were hunted, and normally I'm a fan of natural death taxidermy but the opportunity to view some of these majestic creatures up close is just too good to pass up.

This cheetah is one of the first animals your eyes are drawn to upon entering the Savannah exhibit portion of the collection.

These lions make a beautiful pair.

The work that this taxidermist has done is so unique and beautiful. The way that he has the gazelle's (I believe that's what they are) running, is just superb, along with some other wonderfully unique poses of several other animals.

I thought this guy was adorable.

This is only about 1/5 or less of a wall COVERED in a variety of mounts. Most of them were from Africa though.

Secretary bird is ready for business. Is it just me or does he have a bit of Karl Lagerfeld in him, or vice versa? Maybe I'm just thinking that because I watched Lagerfeld Confidential today.

Villagers came to the hunter/collection owner when they found out he was in town because this very crocodile had been preying on the village women when they were washing their clothes. Amongst the necklaces posed in his mouth they found the bones of multiple women!!!

This little guy was sitting on the bottom of a shelf, forgotten in an administrative room. I dont know why but he's my favorite I think of the entire collection. I think it might be how his adorable innocence reminds me of my puppy!

The ranch also keeps a large collection of live peacocks with a variety of other animals. This one was saying goodbye to use it seemed, needless to say it was quite windy that day. Yay! New Christina A. video featuring some latex bras and panties on the backup dancers I made a couple weeks ago (you can see them in the first image)! They're also wearing Stockroom waistbelts! Unfortunately I wasn't approached to make the pieces for the video until the day before the shoot, so I couldn't play a roll in any of the awesome pieces they put on Christina, but contributing at all was fun to do :)
